Why this site exists
The Quran is the word of God, and it speaks to each of us personally. At every moment of our lives, we understand it a little differently — sometimes more maturely, sometimes with more questions, but always alive.
That is why this site exists: to preserve our understanding of the moment, verse by verse, and to hold it up, respectfully, against the understanding of other readers — whether Muslim or not, believers or not, scholars or simply curious. The original Arabic text is always present, never optional, alongside translations and reference tafsirs.
On QuranInterpretation, you can:
- Read the Quran in your language, verse by verse or an entire surah
- Compare several translations and consult reference tafsirs
- Publish your own interpretation, on a verse, a range of verses, or a surah
- React and exchange with other readers, respecting disagreement
- Optionally share your perspective to give context to your reading
- Come back years later and see how your understanding has evolved
No authority settles personal interpretations here: the community discusses, but does not censor legitimate theological disagreement. We make no structural distinction between schools of thought — one Quran, one community of readers. Our only firm intolerance is for extremist, sectarian content, or content that twists the text to promote hatred.
